"Old Yellow Legs"

Outfit Details:

Sheer White Blouse - Sears ($12), Cut Offs - Free and DIY, Tights - Forever 21 ($5), Oxfords - Thrifted ($2.75), Floral Crown - DIY (to be in the shop soon!)

I actually wore this outfit over a week ago. Then I was able to get away with wearing a shirt made of such thin material, but that is definitely not the case now. It started snowing on Wednesday night, and by yesterday morning we had about an inch and a half. We didn't get snow until mid to late November last year, so comparatively, I think that's pretty good.

I've been keeping myself fairly busy lately. I started my photography internship at the beginning of the week, and it's amazing how much I'm already learning. It just so happened that the father of one of my best friends is an amazing photographer, and he was willing to teach me. I really don't know much at all about the technical side of things, so he's helping me with that, as well as the artistic part. I'm so excited to learn, though it is a bit strange having someone critique my work, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I have to be up early tomorrow morning to help sell coffee, donuts, and hot chocolate at the Balloon Fiesta as a fundraiser for a club I'm in at school called Interact. We're trying to raise the money to go help rebuild a school in our sister city in Peru that was severely damaged by flooding. The Peruvian Government isn't helping, and the majority of foreign aid has gone to places like Japan and Chile, so they really need help. Wish us luck! Then on Sunday, Josh and I are going to see the Blue Man Group! His mom's new boyfriend bought him tickets for his birthday, and I'm quite excited to go!

Thanks for everything, guys!

Love,

Victoria

Fun fact #1: I have a scar on my cheek that's visible in the second picture that I gave myself when I was a baby by scratching myself.

Funfact #2: "Old Yellow Legs" is what Josh's dad called me when he saw me wearing this. I wasn't quite sure whether to be insulted or not, but I love that guy either way :) He's hilarious.

Autumn Falling

Outfit Details:

Cable Knit Sweater - Thrifted ($2), Socks - Kohl's ($8), Pixie Boots - Traded on Etsy, Cutoff Shorts (unseen, but I promise they're there!) - From a friend, Crest Pin - Thrifted ($7), Rings - Colorado Springs and a gift from Josh

Yesterday morning I woke up, got out of bed, then killed some time by reading a few of the nights' new blog posts, including this one. I went and got ready, only to find that I didn't have nearly as much time as I thought I had. I'm not sure whether the way my outfit turned out was intentionally so similar to hers or if it was subconscious (though I swear I didn't notice the pin until I looked at it just now...so at least I came up with that part on my own), but as you can see...I definitely ripped it off. Sorry for stealing your outfit, but thank you for the inspiration, Maria!

Does anything like that ever happen to you guys?

Yesterday and today have been the most beautiful days. Some of the leaves have dropped, but not all, and it's still been warm enough for me to tuck myself up under a tree next to the water and willows and read. I love Winter, but I'll miss the peacefulness of being able to just go outside and do things like this when it's too cold. It's one of the most beautiful things I feel you can do.

I hope you're all doing well!

Take care.

Love,

Victoria

Spice

Outfit Details:
Burnt Orange Blazer - Thrifted ($1), Scarf - Ross, years ago ($6?), Jeans - Ross ($15), Riding Boots - Thrifted ($7), Necklaces - Inherited from my Grandmother and Mother

A few weekends ago Josh, a couple of our friends and I drove 45 minutes to the next town to go thrifting. I had been seeing quite a few thrift stores when my family and I would drive through, but had never stopped, so I really wanted to check them out. We weren't too sure what to expect given that this town is...well, pretty ghetto (per capita, it's the black heroin capital of the world). But long story short, it ended up being amazing. At the first store we went to, I got a huge pile of clothes and two pairs of shoes for about $13 - this blazer included. I love the color and fit, I discovered that it's 100% silk, and it  cost me a whopping $1! I'll be shooting the Fall lookbook for my shop sometime this week, so you'll be seeing some of the other things I got soon.

I'm not Catholic, but I really love wearing this cross. You can't really tell in these pictures, but it's got tiny purple stones on it. A friend of my Mom's sent it to her for her birthday last month, but as her religion doesn't exactly condone the wearing of crosses, she said I could have it.

I am a lucky duck.

This dusty old world spinning 'round and 'round

Outfit Details:

Striped sweater - Ross ($8), Semi-sheer pleated mini skirt - Thrifted ($2?), Brown Fedora - Target ($15), Belt - Thrifted ($.75), Pixie boots - Traded on Etsy

We've been having such beautiful weather lately. Though I'm more of a cloud than sun sort of person (I'm hoping to go to college in Oregon or Washington), I've been enjoying the clear skies. Shining mornings and warmly lit sunsets. It's the kind of weather that makes for perfect backdrops for memories, and one of the things that will make me miss home when I'm gone.

My dad just cut the hay in out fields. It's kind of pretty isn't it? I had planned on taking pictures in the long grass before it got cut, but I was just a little too late. But I know I'll have other chances.

I've been having a bit of a hard time lately. Which is strange, because I've also been doing really well. I've been extremely lonely, nervous about college, and just feeling pretty stressed in general - I'm just not quite what I'd like to be. But on the other hand, I feel good about how much harder I've been trying with almost everything in my life. I like being involved in more things...especially since I don't just feel like I'm sitting at home all day anymore. I just wish I felt like it was making more of a difference.

I wish everyone who sees this a wonderful start to the weekend! Knock yourselves out :)
