My Huckleberry Friend

Last night I finished reading the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for school, and except for a few parts (namely Tom Sawyer being absolutely ridiculous towards the end) I really really loved it.

"To be, or not to be; that is the bare bodkin"

Ah man, Mark Twain was a pretty hilarious guy

Speaking of hilarious. I'm in the process of reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, and even less than a quarter of the way through it, it's already one of my favorite books. If you haven't yet, you need to read it. As Helena and I were discussing today, his writing style is so different than a lot of what's out there. That makes this book super fun to read.

Today was also a very lucky day for thrifting. I got a pair or black hightop converse, a sheer/floral blouse, and a beautiful teacup all for 6.50! That was an especially great deal considering that I was planning on buying the exact same shoes new, probably for about $40 (plus these are already a little beat up, which I'm happy about- they look better that way). I'll try to get some pictures of the things I bought up soon.

So we sailed on to the sun till we found the sea of green.

Josh (boyfriend) wanted me to title this "Yellow Submarine", but that made me feel like I was just playing into one of the fat jokes he always he makes about me, so I didn't. Take that, Josh. :)

My Mama and I made this dress during the summer and it's by far one of the comfiest ones I have AND it has pockets! I love it to death, but I don't really wear it too often and I'm not sure why. I really need to take her out more, poor thing.
Also, I promise I actually wore shoes today, I just didn't feel like running back downstairs to get them for the pictures.

Please ignore my ridiculous face. I wanted to show a picture of Josh and I don't have very many. He looks a  little intense here, but he's really the sweetest guy I know. (Thank you for the pictures.)

Paper Wings

Hello, again!
How was everyone's Valentine's Day? And by everyone I mean, of course, the only three people who are reading this so far (my best friends and my boyfriend who can't probably can't even comment on this).
Said boyfriend and I didn't do much on the actual day, but we celebrated with some beef stroganoff cooked by his wonderful mother and Spirited Away. All in all, it was pretty wonderful.

Yesterday I also took the plunge and created a lookbook account, and to be honest, it scares me to death. I'm almost always behind the camera rather than in front of it. Hopefully the wanting to run away when I see that it's pointed towards me will go away once it happens more often. My friend Helena (the girl with the bangs in my first post) is hopefully also going to make an account tonight. Here are some photos from our little mini-shoot in our school's library.

Photos of me by Helena. Thank you Lane! :)

It's a pleasure to meet you.

Hello!
I guess this isn't much of a first post- picture heavy and light on words. I don't know how long it will be until someone reads this, but I figure (hope, rather) that as time goes on this blog will describe itself little bits at a time. I think that will provide a better introduction than any formal post I could ever write.
So without further ado, here are your first few tidbits.
I am 16 years old, living in a small town in northern New Mexico.
I own a small ebay store called Little Bird Blue, that I really enjoy very much. A week or so ago, two of my best friends and I got together after school to do a shoot with some of the clothes that I'll be selling. We all just about froze to death, but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Here are some of the results:

I hope you enjoy! These items should be up by the end of the week.

Well, here's hoping for a happy life to my new little blog.
