My lovely little package from Maria Elyse

Earlier this week, I was notified that there was something on the way for me in the mail by my friend Maria. Now, if you don't already know this, she runs a blog (one of my all time favorites) - First Impressions. It's a beautiful little place full of whimsy, inspiring pictures, and enchanting words. And over the past few months, I've been getting to know the girl behind it. As she says, "I think it's safe to say that we've become very good friends". But to get to the point, I got this package a few days ago and I love every single thing.

Everything waswrapped so beautifully in tissue paper, ribbon, and a quilt topper!

There was a very sweet card with cute little teddy bears on it...

Two pairs of fancy socks (both of which I've already worn), a dress to borrow (we've decided to do a clothing swap periodically...isn't that fun?!), and the most beautiful pair of tasseled loafers. I was so shocked when I unwrapped them! They're in near perfect condition, my size, and they're the perfect Autumn-like shade of red, too!

The same goes for these earrings! They're just so perfect for Fall, it's amazing! I've decided to wait to wear them until after I get my hair cut on Tuesday so you can actually see them. I don't have anything similar, so I'm really excited.

:)

Aaaand...

Mentos! They're one of my favorites, and I ate them all almost right away (oops). :)

I love all the care that was put into this package. There's just something that really makes you feel special when you get something that you can tell someone put a lot of thought and effort into. So thank you so much Maria :) That's really the best thing of all.

YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!

Make sure you all go visit Maria! I promise you, you'll be so happy that you did.

Beating

Good morning, all :)

And it is indeed morning as I'm typing this (technically anyway...it's 12:11). But I really wanted to get this up before I went to bed, because I'm not sure that I'd get another chance to this weekend. Tomorrow morning I'll be hiking the tallest mountain in New Mexico, taking Josh's senior pictures and editing like crazy, and Sunday I'll be taking senior pictures for another of my friends, visiting with my aunt and uncle who are going to be in town, and doing yet more photo editing. Oh boy.

But here is what I wore today. Things are getting so beautiful now, and this is one of my favorite spots on our little ranch to be. It's so green, and the water's so peaceful...it's the perfect place to just go to sit and read without any distractions.

So a couple of days ago, Ollie (that silly little bear of a dog) thought it would be a good idea to bark at and chase after a skunk a few feet away from this spot. He's finally smelling normal again :)

Black cable knit sweater - Walmart ($3), Blue floral dress - Thrifted ($4), Black lace-up boots - Thrifted ($4), Lace socks - A gift from Maria (more on this later), Time turner necklace - Christmas gift from Josh, Armor ring - Forever21 ($6), Wolf ring (that I can use as a staple remover!) - Ebay ($3)

So I won't go into much detail now, but after a two year long absence, my big brother is finally back at home. It's been interesting so far...it's strange how used you get to someone being gone. And even though you've spent your entire life with them, it just feels strange for them to be living with you again. I'm sure I'll get over the feeling soon enough.

Anyway, I hope you all have a fantastic day, and an even better weekend!

Love,

Victoria

The ABQ Zoo

Hello :)

On Labor Day, Josh, one of our best friends, Dylan and I took a little trip to Albuquerque to go to Zoo. They were also nice enough to take me to Savers and Thrift Town to go to the awesome sales they were having (where they were very patient with me, too). Which was very sweet of them :) Anyway, here are my photos from our trip. It was so much FUN!!! We're hoping to go to Albuquerque again this weekend to look at the UNM campus (I'm really hoping to go to college in Washington, Oregon, or Northern California, but it can't hurt to explore the options), and we might go back while we're there. We'll see!

The cutest little baby orangutan!

An adorable little boy watching the baby elephant.

Josh pretty much picked my outfit out for me! Isn't he adorable?

"No, we would all be the same amount of dead."

And our very lonely little car at the end of the day.

Thank you for the photos of me, Josh!

I've been pretty busy lately. I'm taking people's senior pictures, I cleaned my room (which is a much bigger deal than it sounds), and just general business, but I'll try my best to have another post up soon!

Love,
Victoria
