Etsy Update: 5/29/11

Good afternoon :)
As of Friday it was officially Summer for me, and I'm super stoked. That Summer feeling hasn't quite set in yet but maybe that's a good thing. If it had, I might not be getting as much done. But my days have been filled with listing things in the shop, graduation parties, and friends (mostly Josh). I've also been working on some new things for the blog which you'll hopefully be seeing very soon. In the meantime, take a peak at some of the new things in the shop!

These first four really should have been up ages ago, but better late than never!

American Pi(cnic)e

This was my Saturday afternoon. Good food, good friends, beautiful scenery, and taking pictures of hide and go seek tag. Plus, my poor (amazing) little picnic basket finally got to be used for a real picnic! Let's just say I had an amazing time.

The dress I wore is another of my pre-birthday finds from Savers. It's creepily similar to this one. Now the hard part is deciding which to keep and which to sell. I hate decisions.

"Look wistful!"

A big thanks to Helena for taking the first 12 photos!

When the Sky is Starless

The weather was very New Mexican today. By that, I mean that it couldn't quite make up it's mind as to what exactly it wanted to do. I was obviously that way with my location too. :)
I don't have a whole lot to say today, so I'll let the pictures do most of the talking for me.

This barn/shed has been here for such a long time. It's falling apart a bit, but that just makes me love it all the more.

I know I've said it so many times, but I love the ranch so much. It's small, but there's always something beautiful to be found and exploring to be done.

I've been using this as my backpack and it's wonderful. One of my favorite finds ever.

Outfit Details:
Blue Plaid Shirt- Walmart ($8)
Black Maxi Skirt- Borrowed from Mom
Moon Tank- Thrift ($1)
Necklace- Gift from Josh
Ring- Birthday Gift
Belt- Belonged to my great grandfather
Briefcase- Savers ($6)

P.S.- Look at what I made! This is the retablo I made for my Spanish class (they're the Graces). I'm usually completely terrible at anything related to drawing or painting so I'm really proud of how this came out.

The Taj Mahal

Wow, I've just realized how long it's been since my last real post. I didn't even do a proper birthday post (my birthday was a week ago today). I do, however, have quite a few little outings I can post about in the near future.

The setting for this post is our chicken coop. A.k.a. the Taj Mahal of chicken coops. Josh and another guy that my parents hired built it last Summer, and let me just say that it is absolutely ridiculous. They've got lattice, heat, wall decorations....you name it. I say that it's a little much for chickens, but I'm almost positive that my dad loves them more than us, so he'll hear none of that. :P At least they're safe, I guess.

My mom's hand-painted signs. Josh is offended by them :)

I got this dress on my pre-birthday shopping trip last Saturday at Saver's. I ended up getting more stuff for the shop than for me, but oh well. It was still great. I also went to my first estate sale, where I got this amazing briefcase/suitcase. And while I found some amazing things, the reason I was able to find it all was really sad. It was just a little hard to think that I was in a house where people had probably spent most of their lives, buying their things after they'd died. Even with this though, I think I really like estate sales overall. They don't seem to be that common in New Mexico though. Nuts.

Oops. My dress looks super bright here.

It's in great condition and it even still has the key with it! I just can't decide whether to keep or sell it. Any opinions?

See! Crazy, huh? These are some lucky chickens.

The little ones who aren't quite big enough to be with the big girls yet.
